Over one year in development, CheckMe Gold has become the most powerful password protection system and self-maintained account management system available. There is absolutely no system that can compare to CheckMe Gold. How do we know? We made sure to include all of the sought after features, and added many of our own, including a complete custom, proprietary API engine that holds everything together.
While some security systems online are quick to boast webbased everything, we have taken the time to weigh the pros and cons of what should be webbased and what should not. Namely, we do not believe that various settings that define formatting, file locations, etc... should be webbased, as it could make it easier for a hacker or abusive administrator to corrupt your system.
CheckMe was developed keeping many issues in mind. One of them being password sharing. This is an increasing problem with membership websites. Not only does it cause for you to lose money on potential members, but it also draws resources from your website that may, otherwise, not have been consumed.
Another issue that was kept in mind was bandwidth control. With password security systems that are protected via .htaccess, a website could link to protected material by providing the user ID and password in the link. In CheckMe this would be possible, if there was no session expiration, if the website initiated the login session and if no refering URLs were specified. Thus, if all of these are defined, then bandwidth theft can be prevented. This goes to show that CheckMe is flexible enough to support both methods.
The most appealing issue may be the customization of CheckMe even though it is a CGI script! The reason this is so appealing is that not only the headers and footers are customizable, but the whole HTML code, to the very small detail.
On top of these issues, many innovative features were added that are not available in ANY other CGI password protection system. These would include the ability to protect any file types be it video, audio, Flash, jpg, mp3, etc... You can also protect CGI scripts, which by itself is impressive, but it doesn't stop there, since you can also password protect CGI scripts requiring SSI! Many other innovative features are included in this software. Definitely worth every dollar!

This screen above shows the ability for you to specify what administrator has what permissions. Each checkbox represents a particular permission. A combination of these permissions will let you fine-tune your administrators' power.
Here you can see the window that lets you add a member. Keep in mind that you can add members directly and they can even set themselves up without your intervention, if you choose for the system to work like that.
This window shows the innovative file grouping feature that allows for you to setup file groups, specifying which files and folders are to be accessible to a member, and which are not. This utility is as easy to use as your file explorer or FTP client.
The CheckMe Gold Administration tool has been developed to be as easy as possible. This will permit for you to quickly manage your members without having to actually read the documentation.
